To say that "2020 has been an interesting year" might be the understatement of the century!
So many businesses in the aesthetics industry, including Astanza, faced challenges that required them to pause, regroup, and re-strategize so they could continue serving their clients safely. Although COVID-19 effectively threw a wrench in everyone's plans this year, this moment in history also allowed so much creativity, innovation, determination and grit, compassion, and (virtual) togetherness, to rise to the surface.
We had the privilege of diving deeper into our relationships with our clients to support them during these uncertain times. We got to see the Aesthetics industry virtually come together to help one another's businesses and online presence. At Astanza, we had the opportunity to rise to the occasion and be the best partners to our clients and followers we could be. SERVICE: Showing Up (Virtually) for our Incredible Clients
Despite being immersed in a global pandemic that decreased air travel, Astanza Biomedical Service Engineers were still able to service clients' lasers, make essential repairs, install new devices, and even train staff.
When we couldn't fly to clients across the country, we used video-chat platforms like Zoom, FaceTime, and Skype to administer training and walk clients through simple repairs. While we would have preferred to see their smiling faces in person, we realized we provided more hours of virtual training and service than we had previously.
We're glad we could still help clients with the most important thing: getting their lasers back up and running and answering their questions.
TRAINING: Getting Creative to Serve our Students
We were so grateful to see such a massive demand for laser tattoo removal training throughout 2020! New Look Laser College, Astanza Laser's training division, even added an extra 2-day course at the end of the year to meet interested students' needs. With health and safety as their top priority, NLLC went above and beyond to deliver a safe learning experience for all students, staff, and volunteer patients. The NLLC team implemented temperature checks, social distancing, mandatory mask-wearing, pre-packaged individual meals, and even live-streamed sections of the course.

MARKETING SUPPORT: New Resources and Client Perks!
At Astanza, we pride ourselves on our clients' success. Our marketing team went above and beyond to ensure our clients received the best business-building materials and helpful resources. We continued a few of our clients' favorites, such as Before and After Contests, and started some new ones like the Client Promotions Library (AKA promotions in a box).
Before & After Contest
One of the best ways to earn new patients is to showcase the incredible results you deliver for each patient through a strong portfolio of impressive before and after photos. To incentivize our clients to improve upon their collection of before and afters, we held semi-annual contests to submit their best results photos for voting. The winners received their choice of prizes geared toward supporting their business (i.e., a free one-year subscription to RxPhoto).
Client Promotions Library
When our clients need help putting together an advertising campaign centered around the year's major holidays (New Year's, Valentines, Mother's Day, Father's Day, etc.), we now have them covered. Our creative team put together templates that include; Facebook posts, Instagram graphics, sales flyers, and more. We created templated graphics and creative assets so that clients have everything they need to kick off a sales promotion.
Educational Content & The New Aesthetic Resource Library
During 2020, our Marketing Team also kicked it into high-gear to develop helpful, insightful content! We joined forces with aesthetics industry leaders Dr. Jason Emer, Dr. Sheila Barbarino, Judy Adams, and Geneva Capital to co-host special webinars and benefit from their expertise. We created so much educational content this year that we needed a way to organize our growing catalog of information. We developed the Aesthetic Resource Library to help our clients and followers quickly find the free webinars, ebooks, guides, videos, presentations, and brochures they need!
TECHNOLOGY: challenging the Status Quo with New Devices
Astanza was thrilled to announce the MeDioStar diode hair removal laser by Asclepion Laser Technologies as the newest addition to our product line this year! As the premier US distributor for the MeDioStar, we were proud to offer aesthetic clinics the device they'd need to meet the rising demand among patients for fast, effective, powerful, and comfortable laser hair removal treatments. Featuring the largest laser spot size in the industry, built-in contact cooling, three wavelengths, preset treatment parameters, and more, the MeDioStar continues to make waves in the aesthetics industry by disrupting competitors and empowering clinics to serve their patients better.
Although it was a little more challenging to showcase our award-winning aesthetic technology this year, we still found ways to launch the Asclepion MeDioStar and educate people about our lasers. Through virtual demos via video-chat, we demonstrated our technology for practitioners and entire staff across the country! Fully embracing going virtual this year, we encouraged our prospects to watch our laser demos from the comfort of their office, clinic, home, and even car (yep, we did one of those!).
Looking Forward to 2021 and Onward
As we look back with a glass-half-full mindset, 2020 delivered plenty of change and opportunities to grow! This year will undoubtedly be one to remember, and we're very fortunate to be able to look back fondly on some bright spots. We want to take this opportunity to sincerely thank all of our loyal clients, industry partners, students, followers, and Astanza team members for a memorable, momentous year.
We also send our deepest condolences to those who lost loved ones to COVID-19. This year was challenging, and our thoughts are with those still suffering from the widespread effects of the pandemic. To those struggling, we hope you find a moment's peace during this holiday season.
This time next year, we expect to have seen an increased demand for aesthetic procedures, renewed excitement for entrepreneurship, business growth, and new technology - giving us all the boost we need! We're hopeful that this wave will keep appointment books full, require additional staff, and increase investment in the industry.
