Best Tattoo Lightening AND Cover-up: Blackbird Studio
Blackbird Studio Sudbury in Ontario, Canada, took home the winning prize for the best tattoo lightening AND cover-up category. This woman-owned and operated company started as a laser tattoo removal business and has since incorporated tattooing to deliver a full-service experience to its clients. Blackbird Studio’s winning photo shows the modification of an unwanted tattoo after six laser treatments with the Duality laser, followed by a cover-up tattoo. Cover-up tattoos are much easier to apply after laser treatment is used. Less ink is needed, and clients can receive a tattoo they actually like versus one that has to be modified due to color and size limitations.

Best Aesthetic Treatment Photo: Dr. Gerald Goldberg
The best aesthetic treatment photo win went to Dr. Gerald Goldberg for his success in treating a patient with argyria, a rare skin condition that turns the skin a blue-grey color when silver builds up the body. Dr. Gerald N. Goldberg is a 2019 ASLMS Ellet Drake Award and 2017 Leon Goldman Award recipient. His winning photo shows the complete removal of argyria after a single treatment with the Astanza Trinity laser. “I have been very pleased with the reliability and versatility of the Astanza Trinity!
